About
Join us for lunch and a conversation with Drs. David Hunt and Anne Hamby (Department of Marketing) about student and instructor perspectives on flexible grading policies. Drawing on college-wide survey findings, they will highlight places where student expectations and instructor perspectives aligned, and places where they diverged substantially. Together, participants will explore why these gaps emerge, what instructors have done to better communicate and design course policies, and how flexible policies can support student learning while remaining manageable and equitable. Attendees will have a chance to reflect on their own course policies and brainstorm ways to reduce expectation gaps between students and instructors.
A selection of sandwiches and salads will be available for those attending this session in person. We will have dairy and gluten free options available, as well as vegetarian/vegan food. If you have a dietary need outside of that, please let us know at least a week ahead of the session. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch/snack!
