About
When government agencies engage in international assistance, they follow their own country's foreign policy guidelines. This means each country channels its foreign assistance toward sectors it deems most strategic and adopts an implementation model that best serves its geopolitical and economic interests.
In this lecture, Abdoulkadre Ado, Associate Professor of International Business & Global Management at the University of Ottawa, will discuss the ways China, the US, Canada, Saudi Arabia, France, the UK, Russia, and Japan develop international relational capital in Africa through unique international assistance practices.
He will examine differences in their cooperation priorities, delivery channels, and emotion strategies, exploring how these variances shape how these countries brand their nations and build strategic relationships across the continent. His analysis will also consider how these distinct models serve countries' strategic interests and influence the position of their multinational enterprises in Africa.
This event is part of the Nardone Family Seminar Series at the Center for Emerging Markets. A light lunch will be provided. Registration required.
