About

Join us at Cal Poly Maritime Academy for a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate Native history and living cultural traditions.

Shawn Price of the Diné Tah Cultural Program will present a lecture exploring W.T. Sherman, Tribal treaties, and the role of Native sovereignty in the history of the United States. Following the lecture and a question-and-answer session, guests will experience a Diné cultural dance performance featuring live singing and narration.

We invite students, staff, faculty, and community members to join us for this opportunity to deepen our understanding and appreciation of Native history, sovereignty, and cultural expression.

Date: Monday, November 9, 2026 Time: 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Location: Cal Poly Maritime Academy — Rizza Auditorium
