About
UT Libraries Now a Dryad Member — Join Us to Learn What That Means for Your Research
November 11 | 11am-12pm | tiny.utk.edu/dryadwebinar (password: Dryad)
The University of Tennessee is now an institutional member of Dryad, a trusted, curated, general-purpose data repository that makes research data discoverable, freely reusable, and citable. Join UT Libraries for an introductory workshop on how to use this new resource — and why it matters for your research.
What We'll Cover
Who's already publishing data at UT — a look at UT researchers and departments already using Dryad, and the kinds of datasets being shared
Why data publishing matters now — many funders, including NIH, now require data management and sharing plans, and journals increasingly mandate public data deposit as a condition of publication. We'll cover what these requirements mean for you and how Dryad helps you meet them
How Dryad can help your research — increased citations, compliance with funder/publisher mandates, a permanent DOI for your dataset, and long-term preservation
How to connect through UT's membership — step-by-step on accessing Dryad with your UT affiliation, reduced/waived publishing fees as a member institution, and where to go for help
Who Should Attend
Faculty, postdocs, and graduate students — especially those with NIH funding, other federal grants, or upcoming publications with data-sharing requirements.
