About
In a post-cataclysmic future, reluctant teen Shinji Ikari is called by his estranged father to pilot an Evangelion for NERV, humanity's last defense against invading Angels threatening Tokyo-3.
By popular vote, this semester's series will be Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995-1996) dir. Hideaki Anno and created by animation studios Gainax and Tatsunoko Production. This classic anime series is widely regarded as among the best of all time, subverting genre conventions and pivoting into a thought-provoking, dark psychological take on trauma and coming-of-age.
The Boca Film Club: Semester Series meetings take place on the Tuesdays in-between our main film showings, showing episodes and following a series chosen by our members. No admission required—come join us for snacks, drinks, and discussion; whether you're a casual moviegoer or diehard cinephile, you'll fit right in! If you're interested in getting involved, join our Discord group for club communications, which include polls, announcements, and chats with fellow students!
