About
On November 12th, The Lovely Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will host “Layers of Love.” This event aims to raise awareness about resource disparities among children in the DMV area, specifically regarding access to essential winter clothing. Attendees will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the solution through a service initiative. Partnering with Greater Washington Urban League and Elementary Schools in underserved wards 7-8, all items collected will be donated. Attendees will also participate in guided conversation prompts that will encourage students to reflect on the broader meaning of warmth, the impact of resource disparities on children in the DMV, and their role in supporting the community.
