About

New to ARCTIC or high-performance computing?

This hands-on session takes you from logging in to GSU's research computing cluster for the first time to running a real analysis on it, all in one afternoon. You don't need any experience with HPC or the command line.

You'll work on your own laptop and learn how to:

• Log-in securely, and see how accounts and allocations work in Elpis

• Choose where to store your files and why that matters

• Load software with modules and conda

• Write, submit and check a Slurm batch job

• Find help when something breaks

The session covers everything in the self-paced iCollege ARCTIC Onboarding course, taught live with ARCTIC staff in the room. Bring a laptop and your phone (for Duo). We'll give each registered participant access to a training allocation before the session.
