About
Join Brad Williamson, retired educator and avid bryophyte enthusiast, for an introduction to moss identification. Whether you're brand new to mosses or have already started learning to identify them, this workshop will help you build essential skills to explore the fascinating world of bryophytes: mosses, liverworts and hornworts.
Bryophytes have ancient origins and are remarkably successful plants, thriving in a variety of habitats. Often overlooked because of their small size and lack of vascular tissues, these little plants have fascinating stories to tell.
After developing an interest in mosses, Brad realized there was limited expertise in bryophyte identification in Kansas. He sees this as an opportunity for curious naturalists and hobbyists to help grow local knowledge and appreciation of the bryophytes quietly living all around us.

Where: KU Field Station, Armitage Education Center, 350 Wild Horse Road, Lawrence, Kansas 66044
