About
The UMass Multidisciplinary Psychedelic Club (MPC) is pleased to host Kyle Harrington of Tapestry Health, a community-based health organization dedicated to providing vital, effective, and inclusive health services for optimal wellbeing and vibrant communities. Tapestry Health has been serving the local Western Massachusetts community for over 50 years and consists of many leading public health experts, especially those focused on harm reduction and drug use. They envision a world in which health and wellness is a human right, accessible to all, and free from social and structural inequities. Kyle Harrington, the Harm Reduction Training and Drug Checking Manager at Tapestry Health, will be coming to UMass as a guest speaker on Monday, 11/9 at 5:30pm in Bartlett. They will discuss their background and experience with Tapestry, as well as the importance of drug checking and harm reduction. They will also bring their mobile FTIR spectrometer, an analytical instrument used to identify the molecular structure of drug samples, and demonstrate its use with mock samples, providing an interactive experience for the audience. This event is open and free to the general public; the UMass & Five College community is especially encouraged to attend. For more information about Tapestry Health, please visit tapestryhealth.org
