About
With the end of the semester and Thanksgiving break approaching, it is easy to be wrapped up in completing assignments while getting ready to head home. This event is designed to be an cozy and stress-free activity that helps residents reflect and practice some self-care prior to leaving for break.
Learning Objectives:
• Self-Reflection and Emotional Awareness: The residents will express their emotions, achievements, and goals by writing a letter of self-reflection to themselves or a loved one. • Strengthening Social Network: The residents will tap into their own social support networks (e.g., family members, friends, or fellow residents). • Wellness Community Engagement: Residents will utilize their self-care practices and community engagement practices by participating in a low stress reflection activity before break.
Residents are encouraged to drop by and enjoy some cookies and write a handwritten letter. It could be a letter of gratitude to their family and friends at home, or a self-reflection letter which they can read back in the middle of the next semester. With reflection and treats, this event allows the students to pause and recharge, connect with their support networks, and appreciate their progress before heading home for the holidays.
