About
Island Night 2026, hosted by SLSA, is an evening dedicated to experiencing and celebrating the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka. For Sri Lankan participants, it will be a nostalgic taste of home; for non-Sri Lankans, it will be a colorful introduction to Sri Lankan hospitality, games, music, arts, and traditions.
Come play popular Sri Lankan games, try your hand at traditional arts and crafts, and learn fun dance moves inspired by Sri Lankan heritage. There will also be plenty of opportunities to win exciting prizes, from testing your knowledge of Sri Lanka in trivia to showing off your newly learned dance moves and participating in other fun challenges! Even if you’re here simply to have a good time rather than compete, you’ll leave with a special little token with your name written in Sinhala and Tamil, Sri Lanka’s official languages.
True to the spirit of Sri Lankan hospitality, Island Night 2026 will be a welcoming space for every Spartan to relax, connect, and enjoy a little taste of Sri Lanka amid the chaos of the semester.
