About
Bun – Event Description Residents will participate in Fall Into Self-Care at North Commons, where they will have the opportunity to relax and focus on self-care before Thanksgiving break. Residents will make their own slime using different colors, glitter, and decorations as a fun way to relieve stress. They will also participate in a gratitude activity where they can write down things they are thankful for, such as family, friends, or positive experiences. This program will allow residents to take a break from school, practice self-care, and connect with others while reflecting on the positive things in their lives.
Meat & Toppings – 3 Learning Outcomes • Identify at least one personal stressor and one healthy way they can manage stress in their everyday lives.
• Practice using slime-making as a hands-on self-care activity to explore a healthy way to relax and take a break from school-related stress.
• Explain how practicing gratitude and recognizing positive things in their lives can help support their emotional well-being and encourage a positive mindset.
Bun – Connection to Learning Domains This program will help residents develop skills in Social Responsibility, Holistic Wellness, and Critical Thinking by encouraging them to recognize their stress, practice self-care, and reflect on what they are thankful for. Through slime-making, residents will explore a fun way to relax and manage stress, while the gratitude activity will encourage them to think about the positive things in their lives. By identifying personal stressors, practicing healthy coping activities, and understanding the importance of gratitude, residents will learn how to make thoughtful decisions about their mental well-being and develop healthy habits they can use throughout the semester.
