1. 1. No purchase necessary

   NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning. NextToU is free, and there is nothing to buy in connection with this giveaway. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

2. 2. Sponsor

   The sponsor is NextToU. Email: contact@next-to-u.app. Our mailing address is available on request at that email. ("Sponsor", "we", "us").

   This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Apple Inc., Google LLC, Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any college or university. They are not responsible for it, and any questions, comments or complaints must go to Sponsor, not to them.

3. 3. Who can enter

   Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old (19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi) when they enter and who are currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States.

   You must have your own NextToU account with a confirmed email address, and accept these rules in NextToU, confirming that you are 18 or older (or the older age above where it applies), before you can see or enter a giveaway. Tickets are only given once you have. One account per person; a person with more than one account may only win with tickets on one of them.

   Not eligible: Sponsor's owner and anyone who works for or with Sponsor on this giveaway, the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and household members of any of them, and accounts that Sponsor has set up for testing.

4. 4. Entry period

   The giveaway starts at Mon, Nov 2, 10:00 AM ET and ends at Mon, Nov 9, 8:00 PM ET (the "Entry Period"). Times are Eastern Time. Sponsor's computer clock is the official clock for this giveaway. Tickets stop being given out when the Entry Period ends or when Sponsor freezes tickets shortly before the drawing, whichever comes first; any freeze is announced in the app.

5. 5. How to get tickets

   Each ticket is one entry. Tickets are given automatically and numbered in the order they are given (1, 2, 3 and so on). You can see your ticket numbers on the giveaway screen in the NextToU iPhone app or at next-to-u.app/giveaway.

   (a) Free ticket. Create a free NextToU account (in the iPhone app or at next-to-u.app), confirm your email address, and save (bookmark) any event during the Entry Period. You get 1 ticket. You don't have to invite anyone to enter or to win.

   (b) Tickets for inviting friends. Every NextToU account has its own invite link and 6-character invite code. When a friend joins with your link or code and qualifies (see below), you get 2 tickets for your first qualifying friend and 3 tickets for each qualifying friend after that.

   A friend qualifies only if all of these are true: (1) they are a real person and a U.S. college student (they don't have to enter the giveaway themselves); (2) they create a new NextToU account during the Entry Period, with your invite link or by entering your code when they sign up or within 3 days of signing up; (3) they did not already have a NextToU account; (4) they confirm their email address; and (5) they save an event during the Entry Period. Each friend can count for only one person, once.

   Maximum: 25 tickets per person for this giveaway, however they are earned. Tickets that would go over the maximum are not given.

   Accounts made with a "plus" email address (for example name+1@school.edu) don't earn tickets, either their own or as a friend.

6. 6. Inviting friends: how to do it

   Only invite people you know who would want to use NextToU. Don't send bulk or unsolicited messages, don't post your link where the site's rules forbid it, and don't offer or give anyone money or anything else of value to join or to save an event. Sponsor never sends invitations on your behalf, and you are responsible for the messages you send.

7. 7. Void tickets and disqualification

   Sponsor will void tickets, and may disqualify everyone involved, only for these reasons: accounts that are fake, duplicate, made by a script, bot or other automated means, or made with a false identity or a disposable or someone else's email address; entries made in violation of these rules or of NextToU's Terms of Service; tampering with the app, the website or the entry process; or payment or other incentives offered for sign-ups. A void ticket cannot win. Decisions are made fairly and on the same basis for everyone.

8. 8. The drawing

   The drawing takes place at the end of the Entry Period, on or about Mon, Nov 9, 8:00 PM ET, live on NextToU's Instagram account. Before the drawing, Sponsor freezes tickets and announces the total number of eligible tickets.

   One winning ticket is selected at random from all eligible (not void) tickets, using an on-screen wheel that holds every eligible ticket and picks one with a cryptographic random number generator. Every eligible ticket has exactly the same chance. Nobody chooses the winner. The first ticket selected is the potential winner, unless a technical failure interrupts the selection, in which case the selection is repeated.

   If the live stream can't take place, the drawing happens at the same time off-line, is recorded, and the recording is posted.

9. 9. Odds

   The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible tickets at the end of the Entry Period. Your chance equals your eligible tickets divided by all eligible tickets.

10. 10. Prize

    One (1) prize: $25 gift card, delivered as a digital code by email. Approximate retail value: $25. Total value of all prizes: $25.

    The gift card is subject to its issuer's terms and conditions. No cash alternative, no transfer, and no substitution by the winner. If the prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor will award a gift card or prize of equal or greater value.

    The winner is responsible for any taxes on the prize. One prize per person per giveaway.

11. 11. Winner notification and claiming the prize

    The potential winner is notified in the NextToU app and by email to the address on their account within 24 hours of the drawing, and must reply to that email within 72 hours. They may be asked to confirm that they are eligible (for example, from their school email address).

    If the potential winner doesn't reply within 72 hours, isn't eligible, can't accept the prize, or the notification is returned as undeliverable, they forfeit the prize and an alternate winner is selected the same way from the remaining eligible tickets. This repeats until the prize is awarded.

    The prize code is emailed to the winner's account address within 7 days of confirmation.

12. 12. Announcing the result

    Sponsor announces the winning ticket number in the app and on Instagram. Sponsor does not publish the winner's name, photo or school unless the winner agrees in writing. To get the winning ticket number and the prize awarded, email contact@next-to-u.app within 90 days of the drawing.

13. 13. Privacy

    Sponsor uses entry information only to run this giveaway and as described in the NextToU Privacy Policy (next-to-u.app/privacy). No list of entrants is published. Students see only their own tickets. Sponsor does not sell your information.

14. 14. Releases and limits of liability

    By entering, you agree to these rules and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final on all matters about this giveaway. To the extent allowed by law, you release Sponsor, Apple, Google, Instagram, Meta and any college or university from any liability arising from the giveaway or the prize, including claims that the prize is lost, late, damaged or misused.

    Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete or misdirected entries; app, network, phone or computer failures; or errors in these rules or in giveaway materials. Nothing in these rules limits any rights you have under law that can't be waived.

15. 15. If something goes wrong

    Sponsor won't change these rules during the Entry Period in a way that hurts entrants. If fraud, a technical failure or anything else beyond Sponsor's control corrupts the giveaway so that it can't run as planned, Sponsor may cancel or suspend it, announce that in the app, and select the winner from the eligible tickets received before the problem began. If any part of these rules is found invalid, the rest stays in effect.

16. 16. Disputes and governing law

    These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be resolved individually, without a class action, in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law of your state requires otherwise.
