About
Take a step toward self-acceptance and let go of the pressure to be perfect.
If perfectionism is holding you back, join our skills-based group to explore how it shows up in your life and learn more adaptive ways of managing it. Through open conversation, supportive connection, and engaging activities, you’ll have space to practice new skills and grow in a welcoming environment.
Skills-based groups are focused on building skills to help improve one’s life and tend to be based around a theme or topic (e.g., learning coping skills, distress management, improved self-compassion, etc.). This type of group is led by one of our therapists and includes a combination of both learning skills and sharing about personal experiences.
For skills-based groups, if you are not a current or recent client of the SCC, please make an appointment to get started and note your interest in group therapy. You’ll complete intake paperwork and have a 30-minute “IC” (individual consultation) with one of our therapists, and then you’ll be added to the group roster.
If you are a current or recent client of the SCC, reach out to our Groups & Workshops Coordinator at sccgroups@utdallas.edu to be added to the group roster.
