About
Come see the projects made during MakerJam! Celebrate the spirit of playful design, creativity, and experimentation.
About MakerJam MakerJam is inspired by events where participants make things on compressed timelines, like Game Jams, Hackathons, and HeboCon. Events like these encourage explorative design and playful making rather than polish. Themes serve to direct ideation, offering some constraints through which to creatively approach your project.
In this spirit, MakerJam emphasizes making, creativity, and playfulness in design over the finished product. It is an event that embraces failure as a learning experience in design education. This is an invitation to take creative risks, try something out, lean into uncertainty and unconventional but thoughtfully considered approaches, be avant garde.
Date & Time: Friday, November 20, 2026 1:30-3 PM Location: DePaul Center Concourse
