About
The UCCS Visiting Author Series proudly presents writers Keetje Kuipers and Susanna Childress as part of its Fall 2026 line-up. A public reading featuring both will be held in-person at the Heller Center and online, followed by a Q&A session, and booksigning. Light refreshments will be served.
Keetje Kuipers’ fourth collection of poems is Lonely Women Make Good Lovers. She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, and her poems have appeared in the Pushcart Prize and Best American Poetry anthologies. She lives in Montana and is Editor of Poetry Northwest.
Susanna Childress is the author, most recently, of Extremely Yours: a Memoir in Fragments. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in The Rumpus, Idaho Review, Indiana Review, Cincinnati Review, and twice been noted in Best American Essays. She lives along the west shore of Michigan and teaches at Hope College.
This event is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, The College of LAS, the UCCS English Department, the Heller Center, the Center for Research Frontiers in the Digital Humanities, and local literary nonprofit Brave Irene's.
