About
Join us on November 11th, 12-1pm PT for a panel on "Integrating AI into Virtual Reality for Mental Health Care".
Virtual and augmented reality are increasingly being used to deliver exposure-based treatments for anxiety related disorders, trauma, addiction, and other mental health conditions. Advances in artificial intelligence are now expanding what these technologies can do, enabling more interactive, adaptive, and personalized therapeutic experiences. In this panel, experts spanning clinical research and digital health will explore the evolving role of AI in virtual and augmented reality for mental health care. Panelists will share examples of AI-enabled tools designed to address real-world clinical needs, including interactive virtual characters, personalized exposure environments, and systems that can adapt treatment based on patient response.
The discussion will examine where AI can meaningfully enhance therapeutic XR, what aspects of human interaction and real-world exposure these technologies are unable to replicate, and how clinicians can remain appropriately involved as systems become more adaptive. Panelists will also consider the guardrails needed for responsible use, the potential role of wearable data in personalization, and the practical challenges of moving promising tools from research and development into evidence-based clinical practice.
