About
People living in rural areas face distinct barriers to reproductive health care, including long travel distances to providers, a shortage of accessible specialists, limited public transportation, unaffordable services, gaps in insurance coverage, stigma, and poverty.
Join researchers from the Mills Institute Reproductive Justice Research Stream to learn about their work to address these challenges. The project brings together scholars and practitioners from across Maine to advance research and action on rural reproductive health. Hear what the team has uncovered and where the work is headed.
About the Reproductive Justice Research Stream This working group is part of the Research Justice at the Intersections (RJI) Program at the Mills Institute, which fosters social justice-oriented research and groundbreaking critical analysis by creating an interdisciplinary, competitively selected community of scholars each academic year. RJI scholars meet regularly to share and comment on works in progress, with an end goal of sharing research in a public-facing context.
