This outing will be the White Oaks Trail in Hawn State Park. This state park is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful in Missouri!! The hike is a short but scenic 4.1 mile loop trail, rated as moderately difficult on AllTrails. We plan to meet at the Clocktower at 9:45am, leave at 10:00am, get to the park ~11:30am, hike, eat, and leave by 1:30pm, finally getting back to campus ~3:00pm. If you have been wanting to get off campus and explore some nature before Thanksgiving Break, I highly recommend signing up! Additionally, the elevation gain is 413 ft, which is not too physically demanding for a 4.1 mile trail. If you have never been hiking before, this would be a nice introduction. This trip aims to forward Outing Club's mission of inclusion and making the outdoors more accessible, so we welcome people of all levels of hiking experience.
