The Campus Ecosystem Model (CEM) was an effort by early faculty at FGCU to connect our teaching to regional research needs and to generate long-term research while giving students valuable training in data collection and analysis. The faculty presenters are beginning to re-invigorate this effort by creating a database of on-campus environmental research efforts, facilitating use and sharing of data, and strengthening integration with teaching.

The presenters will offer a history and future vision of the CEM effort, then open a discussion among attendees for the remaining time. Faculty and students interested in engaging with on-campus research in the biological and environmental sciences through courses and independent projects are invited to attend. Come share your ideas!
