About
Learning Outcomes
• Residents will compare different Trader Joe’s snacks and determine the value based on taste, variety, and affordability.
• Residents will practice budgeting purchasing decisions by working together to build a snack haul within a set budget.
• Residents will build connections with one another through a collaborative activity and conversation.
Program Description
Residents are invited to the UVA Classroom for TJs & PJs, a cozy pajama event featuring a variety of Trader Joe's snacks and drinks, plus an interactive snack activity. Residents are invited to stop by in their pajamas to sample different snacks, discover new favorites, and relax in a casual setting.
The program will incorporate different Trader Joe’s snacks into a challenge where residents guess the price of different snacks & vote for their favorite. Residents can work together to determine what snack has the best value while staying within a budget. This activity will encourage residents to use critical thinking in their purchasing decisions while also finding affordable snacks they can incorporate into their lives.
The overall goal of this program is to help residents develop budgeting and decision-making skills while fostering community. Residents will leave this program with new snack ideas, practice budget-conscious choices, and have the opportunity to connect with other residents.
