Gravitational Scattering Off Compact Objects to all orders in Perturbation Theory
At wavelengths large compared to the size of the source, any compact object admits a point-particle description, with finite-size corrections encoded by Love numbers. In this talk, I will discuss a novel method for computing gravitational-wave scattering amplitudes by reinterpreting the Feynman-diagram expansion as a Born series for an effective wave equation. This approach enables efficient and systematic calculations of scattering amplitudes off compact objects, yielding new predictions for black-hole Love numbers and new analytic results for differential cross sections.
