Made in the Image: How the Oldest Myths Become the Newest Literature

About

This series engages some of the most compelling living writers who have created new books based on, or written out of, some of the most ancient literary source material: the scriptural stories, folktales, historical legends and sagas of diverse traditions, ranging from the Torah to the New Testament, the Koran to the Mahabharata and Ramayana, and the myths of Classical Antiquity to the lore of Medieval Europe and Africa. Each session invites two writers to discuss their materials, processes, and techniques for renewing the old, and finding new and individual spiritual, political, and aesthetic relevance out of a common shared past.
