About
SP-3: Shaders? Never Heard of Them introduces shaders to students and goes over the basics of how computers take shaders from GPU instructions to actual images on a screen. The event will cover what shaders are, how the graphics pipeline works, the roles of vertex and fragment shaders, and how to write and run a basic shader tool. In the hands-on activity, attendees will represent their own face using geometry and equations and have the computer render it. Attendees will learn how GPUs draw images and how mathematical descriptions become visual output, with skills useful for game development, visualization, and even AI.
SP-3: Turning My Face into a Math Problem : This session is based on Algorithms, Graph Theory, and Combinatorial Optimization, particularly the Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP). I'll demonstrate how a photograph can be represented as a collection of points and how optimization algorithms can connect these points using a single continuous path to create recognizable artwork. It explores how mathematical problems and algorithmic techniques can be applied to creative computing. --- Event Details: (link below)
