SEC Skills Academy

The Sustainable Energy Club of Purdue (SEC) Skills Academy is a new learning initiative designed to help students build practical technical skills, explore new areas of engineering, and learn directly from experienced SEC members and industry professionals.

Through interactive workshops and lessons, participants will have the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as CAD, KiCAD, MATLAB Simulink, manufacturing, and more. Sessions will be led by some of SEC's more experienced members, as well as guest speakers and professionals who can share valuable knowledge and real-world industry experience.

A key goal of the Skills Academy is to ensure that its workshops align closely with the activities, lesson plans, and timelines of SEC's various branches—especially SEC Fundamentals. By coordinating workshop topics and scheduling with ongoing branch activities and projects, participants can learn relevant skills at the same time they are most useful. This creates a stronger connection between learning technical concepts and applying them directly to SEC projects and activities.

The Skills Academy is open to everyone! Whether you are a current SEC member, a Purdue student interested in learning something new, or someone with little to no previous experience, you are welcome to join. Our goal is to create an accessible and collaborative environment where students can learn, ask questions, and gain hands-on skills that they can apply to classes, projects, SEC activities, and future careers.
