About
When does accountability become harassment, retaliation or another form of harm? In an age of social media and public call-outs, harmful behavior can quickly become a public conversation. This workshop explores what accountability looks like in the real world, on college campuses and in popular media, while examining what makes a consequence accountable rather than retaliatory.
Participants will explore different approaches to responding to bias and harmful behavior, while also considering the impact of more harmful tactics such as doxxing, threats and online harassment. Through guided dialogue and interactive scenarios, participants will examine what makes accountability effective and proportional, and how identity, power and social status can influence who receives accountability and how it is experienced.
