Please join Kean University and the New Jersey/New York Blood Services in the selfless act of giving blood!

In the U.S., someone needs a blood transfusion every two to three seconds, and 95% of all Americans will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives. If you would like to donate blood, please bring your valid state ID and make sure to eat and drink before donating. Students who successfully donate will be able to earn two service hours for their contribution.

Before arriving to donate blood, please make sure you prepare:

- Get the Dish on Nutrition: eat iron-rich foods, such as red meat, fish, poultry, beans, spinach, iron-fortified cereals, or raisins.

- Be Well Rested: Get a good night's sleep the night before your donation, eat healthy food,s and drink extra liquids.

- Hydrate: Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after your donation

Please plan to allot 2 hours for the total process, check-in to check-out.
