About
The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis (TMP) Drug Discovery Core (DDC) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine provides technologies and expertise in assay development, high-content screening, cellular target engagement, and quantitative image analysis. The DDC can help investigators translate their biological models and therapeutic hypotheses into robust assays, screening strategies, and actionable drug-discovery programs. This seminar will provide an overview of the DDC and discuss examples of how DDC capabilities have advanced and can further advance translational cancer research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sylvester). The seminar will also discuss the DDC’s role in connecting Sylvester members and other University of Miami investigators with external high-throughput screening resources and describe how the DDC facilitates these projects by establishing screening readiness, coordinating project transfer, and supporting hit confirmation and follow-up.
Speaker: Hassan Al Ali, Ph.D., M.S.M. Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery & Medicine Director, Drug Discovery Core, Miami Project to Cure Paralysis University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
